With the passing of George H.W. Bush and the incredible amount of respect that is being bestowed upon the values that he stood up for and to throughout his life, we find ourselves at a precipice...… Shall we as a people pick up his baton and carry it forward with personal and communal integrity; or shall we dive head-first off of the cliff of civility towards our ultimate destruction? You may think these sentiments harsh; but are they? Trite partisan rhetoric; or civil and honest communication? We the people for the people; or a house-divided..... Many a person, just as heroic, just as honorable, just as patriotic as our passing 41st President has warned us about a house divided..... It will fall upon itself. Let us not get too grandiose in the relative infancy of this "great democratic experiment." Comparatively speaking, we as a people, as a nation, as an economy are just nearing "toddlerhood" in our development. We need have a community of supportive others surrounding us..... Prompting us to walk correctly, to learn and adapt to our interdependence. Regardless of politic, George H.W. Bush exemplified the position he held with humility, grace and dignity.
