As difficult as one may try, it is nearly impossible to erase any/ all bias from one's view. Perception inherently has a jaundiced eye. But to do our best in limiting such bias is the basis, if not the foundation, of true compassion. Regardless of Source, we are encouraged to "love thy neighbor as thyself;" but in that prescription is the assumption that our relationship with self is loving, caring and endearing. Unfortunately, until and unless we are willing to recognize and clean-up our own wounds, we will continue to project our unhealed "shadows" onto and/or towards others. Like begets like, and water seeks its own level. To be sure, none of us is either exempt, nor finished with the task. Each and every conflict that we experience is an opportunity to heal.... To respond in a more loving and compassionate manner. We might all do well to remember that we are all in a battle with self, and that we all seek and desire reconciliation. Teach peace, and begin with you!
